Trombino's Bistro Italiano

My first experience began with my dad taking me out to dinner for my birthday two years ago when I was in Albuquerque, I am from California, working for him in the summer. He told me he had heard good things about Trombino's but that we needed to go check it out for ourselves. When you drive up it appears just like any other restaurant in New Mexico; Trombino's is a little adobe, one story building with its name lit up clearly across the front. Upon first arrival I was not really thrilled because it does not immediately come off like the cute little Italian restaurant it ended up being.

The atmosphere completely shifts when you open the door. You enter this narrow hallway that has a more old fashioned theme to it; it feels incredibly homey. My nose tingled as the warm scent of fresh bread entered it. A rush of herbs and spices that seemed to fill the air perfectly as you walked further into the restaurant. The hostess was super friendly and we were taken to our table immediately. When you turn the corner you see this dim lit and fancy set of tables and booths. There are candles that sit decoratively on the crinkle free clothed tables. Everyone in the room seemed delighted to be there. From the second I sat down, to the second I got up I was immensely impressed. It is the only place I have ever eaten at that even came close to making raviolis as good as my Grandma's are. I am used to authentic Italian food from when I visit my very large Italian family in Philadelphia, and it was so nice to have something that reminded me of their home. Everyone was so genuine and nice and our food came out in good time. My dad and I sat there and finished every single last bite and I had to stop myself from licking the Vodka sauce off of my plate. If you visit Trombino's be sure to try their famous "Chicken Parmigianino" which is "chicken breasts breaded and topped with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese. served with pasta marinara" (BistroItalianoMenu). It is fourteen dollars, but it is delicious and worth it!

When we left we were bragging to everyone about the amazing experience we had. My dad's, Jack Lantry, words seemed to melt out of his mouth as he mentioned, "the sauce was so rich and savory, you just want to keep eating every last bite and I was tempted to lick the plate." I could not have worded it better myself; I just kept thinking how full I was but that didn't stop me from finishing my delicious raviolis. No matter what you order, expect to leave with a belly full of zesty Italian food and a smile on your face.
